Applications for 2026/27 Rural Competitive Grants are CLOSED

Nillie Lea is proud to offer grants to rural primary school children selected to represent their school at a competitive level.

Grants are available for artistic, sporting and academic competitions where the applicant has a genuine chance of success.

The grants assist students for travel expenses, competition registration, and equipment like footy boots or dance costumes.

Applicants must be Australian citizens enrolled in an ASGS Level 2, 3 or 4 primary school and must be able to prove they have financial need.

Applications for 2026/27 Indigenous Boarding Scholarships are CLOSED

Nillie Lea is proud to offer Indigenous Boarding scholarships supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls throughout their secondary education.

Applicants are selected based on their current academic progress, leadership qualities, and future career goals.  These scholarships are available only to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls entering Year 7 or Year 10.

The scholarships, along with ABSTUDY and parent contributions, cover tuition and boarding fees from Year 7 to Year 12.

Parents or guardians are required to contribute financially to uniforms, social events, and any extra-curricular items such as music lessons.

Applicants must permanently reside in an ASGS Level 2, 3 or 4 region and be able to provide proof of Aboriginality.

Applications for 2026/27 Youth Tertiary Bursaries are CLOSED

Nillie Lea is proud to offer bursaries supporting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to study at an approved Australian Registered Training Organisation or Higher Education Institution.

Applicants are selected based on their level of disadvantage and prospects of genuine success. 

The bursary assists students to purchase studying incidentals such as a laptop, PPE, or tools of the trade. Travel assistance for essential exams or residentials is also available in certain circumstances.

Applicants must be able to prove they have financial need and provide evidence of citizenship and ongoing enrolment.
